Boeing 787 gets another boost: but no major new orders until 2014

Boeing received a double boost yesterday with the announcement

of two major new orders for the B787 Dreamliner. Virgin Atlantic announced orders

for 15 of the long range B787-900s, with 8 options and another 20 purchase rights,

with first deliveries to be in 2011. And Air Canada, one of the earlier initial

purchasers, with 14 orders and 46 options in 2005, converted 23 of the options

into orders.
