Dnata’s Alpha Flight Group and Lufthansa Sky Chefs unit are reportedly likely to form a joint airline catering venture, with a deal to be signed by Sep-2011. The deal is still dependent on regulatory approval from the European Commission and authorisation from the boards of both companies.
Dnata announced last week that it is interested in acquisitions in the Gulf, India and Asia Pacific, following its acquisition of Alpha Flight from Autogrill for GBP100 million in 2010.
Duty free, retail and catering shares were subdued on Friday, with LVMH gaining 1%.
