Airport shares subdued, no “turning point” yet - ACI

Analysis

Unlike the airline sector, whose shares generally soared on Friday, it was a much more subdued day for listed airport stocks.

Airports around the world traded in a range from -2.8% (Australian Infrastructure Fund) to +2.8% (Guangzhou Baiyun) on 04-Dec-2009.

Airports Council International (ACI) reported on Friday that airport freight volumes returned to positive territory in all three categories (international, domestic and total) for the first time in Oct-2009 since Jul-2008. ACI cautioned the figures did not yet represent a "sharp turning point". See related report: Airport traffic stabilisation continues in Oct-2009: ACI
