Airbus says China's Shenzhen Airlines to take 28 A320s, Hainan Airlines 13
Beijing (XFN-ASIA) - European aerospace group Airbus said
it will deliver 28 A320 aircraft to China's Shenzhen Airlines and another 13
to Hainan Airlines, confirming the identity of two customers on a previously
announced China order of 86 A320s.
The 86 aircraft, which are going to a total of five airlines, are part of a larger 150-plane deal also announced previously, Airbus China spokesman Gu Wei said.
Shenzhen Airlines is a medium-sized carrier while Hainan Airlines is China's fourth-largest. The three other customers for the A320 were not disclosed, but none of the country's top three airline companies - Air China, China Eastern or China Southern - was involved in the order.
The A320s will be delivered from 2009 to 2012, with some being assembled at the new Airbus plant near the northern Chinese city of Tianjin, currently under construction, according to Agence France-Presse.
