Air India signs a purchase agreement for 68 Boeing aircraft

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Air India signed a purchase agreement with Boeing for 68 new aircraft, including eight B777-200s, 15 B777-300s, 27 B787-800s and 18 B737-800s (the latter for its subsidiary, Air India Express).
The aircraft are scheduled for delivery from Nov-06. Meanwhile, Boeing confirmed plans to invest up to USD185 million to establish an MRO centre and a pilot training facility in India. Further details are expected to be finalised over the coming months.
