Air France-KLM looking at more consolidation opportunities

Analysis

Air France-KLM is reportedly considering a new organisational structure that would enable it to make more acquisitions and better integrate its current JV. The CEO of the carrier, Pierre-Henri Gourgeon, reportedly aims to move it towards more consolidation and has a "more international vision" of the company. Shares in Air France-KLM eased 0.5%.

In trading on Wednesday, shares in Aer Lingus dropped 4.4%. The carrier cautioned earlier in the week that its 2011 profit may not match 2010 levels, due to the affect of higher fuel prices.

Shares in Dart Group, parent of UK LCC Jet2, continued to climb, up 3.7% at the close of trading.
