Air China to invest in facilities at Beijing Capital International Airport

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Air China announced it has received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission to invest CNY2.3 billion to expand facilities at Beijing Capital International Airport. Construction of the following facilities has commenced and is scheduled for completion before 2008:

  • Maintenance hangar - 50,000 sqm;
  • Cargo warehouse - 80,000 sqm, with annual capacity of up to 600,000 tonnes;
  • Perishable food distribution centre - 30,000 sqm.
