2 new start-up airlines for China

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - CAAC plans to approve the following start-up carriers shortly:

  • Northeastern Airlines: Base: Liaoning Province;
  • Operations: Passenger and cargo services on domestic routes;
  • Fleet: Three initially (type not disclosed);
  • Registered capital: CNY151.3 million;
  • Investors: Major investor is the local government-owned Liaoning Huanjiang Industrial Co Ltd.

Data Qili Airlines: Base: Tianjin;

  • Operations: Cargo services;
  • Fleet: Ten aircraft, including two B737-300s and two B747s;
  • Registered capital: CNY200 million;
  • Investors: GoHigh Data Networks Technology Co Ltd and five other local firms.
