Aviation industry set to descend on Brisbane at the 2023 CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit

Press Release

CAPA - Centre for Aviation (CAPA), the world's most trusted source of aviation market intelligence and a part of the Aviation Week Network, announces that its Australia Pacific Aviation Summit 2023 will be held in Brisbane, Australia over 14-15 September 2023.

The event, to be hosted in conjunction with Brisbane Airport Corporation, will bring CAPA's home event to Brisbane for a two-day summit exploring the key strategic issues facing airlines, airports, and the wider travel industry in the region.

A combination of engaging presentations, keynotes from industry executives and thought leaders, high-level interviews, panel discussions and Q&A sessions will provide unparalleled insights into the local and global trends shaping the regional air travel industry.

After a difficult few years, where most international borders remained steadfastly closed, the Australia Pacific travel and tourism sector is waking back up. Domestic markets are already close to pre-pandemic volumes, and international travel is now moving from strength to strength as travellers start to return to familiar markets.

The 2023 edition of the Australia Pacific Aviation Summit will examine a broad range of topics. Whether it's understanding the path of recovery for the Chinese market, exploring changes to passenger behaviour and the dynamics of tourism trends, gaining insight on government thinking about supporting travel, or exploring sustainability concepts, the event has it covered.

CAPA - Centre for Aviation, Content & Marketing Director, Marco Navarria, said: "As Australasia's travel sector transitions out of recovery and towards a new normal, there will be no better place to understand the state of the industry and what its future will look like than at CAPA's Australia Pacific Aviation Summit 2023. CAPA is extremely excited for this summit to return to Brisbane in 2023 and we're delighted to be welcoming back delegates from across the world to join us for this special occasion".

Brisbane Airport CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff commented: "Every year, millions of passengers pass through our airport, and for most of them BNE is their first and last impression of Australia. We have a responsibility, as a connecting hub, to proudly display Australia to the world. As our city prepares for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we look forward to showcasing our city to all of the 2023 CAPA delegates with a warm Brisbane welcome."

The summit will bring together strategic insight and expertise from the highest levels of the aviation, tourism and hospitality industries. Speakers already confirmed include CEOs from Australian and international airlines, as well as senior government leaders and subject matter experts from local and global air travel specialists.

The Australia Pacific Aviation Summit also offers a unique and valuable networking opportunity. Attendees of past editions include major airlines and airports, global travel industry suppliers, international technology firms, high level government officials across multiple sectors, leasing firms, finance companies and more.
