VivaColombia confirms Panama and Peru services and new base at Bogota in 2014
VivaColombia, via its official Facebook page, confirmed (19-Dec-2013) plans to launch new international services to Panama and Peru in 2014, as well as establish a new base at Bogota El Dorado International Airport. The carrier plans to launch the following international services:
- Medellin-Panama City service, on which the carrier will compete with Copa Airlines, according to OAG;
- Bogota-Panama City service, on which the carrier will compete with Copa and Avianca, according to OAG;
- Bogota-Lima service, on which the carrier will compete with Avianca and LAN Colombia, according to OAG.
No launch dates or planned frequencies were provided. VivaColombia also plans to base two 180-seat A320-200s at Bogota from 2014, offering the following domestic services:
- Bogota-Pereira service, on which the carrier will compete with Avianca and LAN, according to OAG;
- Bogota-Monteria service, on which the carrier will compete with Avianca and LAN, according to OAG;
- Bogota-Santa Marta service, on which the carrier will compete with Avianca, LAN and Copa Colombia, according to OAG;
- Bogota-Bucaramanga service, on which the carrier will compete with Avianca, LAN and Copa, according to OAG;
- Bogota-San Andres service, on which the carrier will compete with Avianca, LAN and Copa, according to OAG;
- Bogota-Cucuta service, on which the carrier will compete with Avianca and LAN, according to OAG.
No frequency information for the Bogota services were provided. VivaColombia also announced places to offer connecting service, with no further detail provided.
