Qantas says IP and dual-brand strategy in Asia an important part of the Qantas story

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce, at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, said (04-Aug-2015) an important part of the Qantas story in Asia "is what we've done to export our IP to the region with the dual-brand strategy and the Jetstar model." Mr Joyce noted: "We had some bad news in Hong Kong... But look at the bigger picture - Jetstar is the leading LCC in Australia, in New Zealand, in Singapore, in Vietnam and now in Japan. And in each of those markets it works in partnership with a full-service carrier." Mr Joyce added: "That gives us huge brand presence and scale that's going to translate into a long-term competitive advantage in Asia for the Qantas Group."
