ANA to reinstate international passenger fuel surcharges
ANA applied (18-Aug-09) to Japan's Ministry of Land Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to reinstate its fuel surcharge on international services from 01-Oct-2009. The fuel surcharge was abolished at the end of Jun-2009 in line with falling fuel prices. The proposed surcharges will be fixed for two rather than the usual three months, to allow a more flexible response to market changes:
- Japan to Europe, N America (not Hawaii), Middle East: JPY7,000 (USD74) per person per sector;
- Japan to Hawaii and India: JPY4,000 (USD42);
- Japan to Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia: JPY3,000 (USD32);
- Japan to Vietnam, Saipan: JPY2,000 (USD22);
- Japan to Hong Kong, Taiwan, China: JPY1,500 (USD16);
- Japan to Korea: JPY300 (USD3).[more]
