SWISS launches Bombardier C Series commercial operations

SWISS deployed (15-Jul-2016) its first Bombardier C Series CS100 on its first commercial service on 15-Jul-2016, operating on the carrier's Zurich-Paris CdG route. The new Bombardier C Series will gradually replace the present Avro RJ100s on SWISS' short- and medium-haul routes between now and Jul-2017. SWISS has 30 C Series aircraft on order - 15 CS100s and 15 of the bigger CS300. In addition to Paris Charles de Gaulle, initial C Series destinations include Manchester, Prague and Budapest. As additional aircraft are delivered, the aircraft will operate to Warsaw and Brussels at the end of Aug-2017, and by Nice, Stuttgart, Hanover, Milan, Florence and Bucharest in Sep-2017. Further points currently served with Avro RJ100 equipment will switch to C Series operation with each successive delivery. The Zurich-London City route is scheduled to swap to C Series operation in 1Q2017. [more - original PR]
