Nok Air to expand regional and international network with new 737s and Q400s in 2015
Nok Air CEO Patee Sarasin, speaking on CAPA TV, said (13-Aug-2015) the airline will take delivery of two Boeing 737-800s and two Bombardier Q400s by the end of 2015. The 737s will be used for international expansion, particularly in China and for Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City services. The carrier plans to expand its network in China from three to six destinations by the end of 2015. The Q400s will be used for domestic and regional services, potentially including Da Nang and other destinations in Vietnam. The airline also plans to commence Singapore service in Nov-2015 and increase Yangon frequency. The Q400s will replace two ATR aircraft as existing contracts end. The carrier plans to acquire eight Bombardier aircraft including six under sale-and-leaseback and two on operating lease. [more - CAPA TV]
