Berlin Schönefeld and Berlin Tegel airports pax up 11%, cargo stable in Oct-2015

Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schönefeld airports reported (08-Dec-2015) a combined 10.9% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers to 2.4 million in Nov-2015, with Berlin Tegel recording a 1.3% decline to 1.6 million and Berlin Schönefeld recording a 46.1% increase to 825,812. Aircraft movements at both airports increased 8.6% to 22,232, including a -0.3% decline to 14,743 at Berlin Tegel and a 31.7% increase to 7489 at Berlin Schönefeld. Air freight at the airports rose 0.4% to 3922 tonnes. Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH CEO Karsten Mühlenfeld said: "The increasing passenger volume at Schönefeld is due in particular to the commitment of Ryanair, which opened its new base here at the end of October.
