Ryanair: future growth will probably remain in Europe

Ryanair director of route development Kate Sherry, speaking at the ACI 26th General Assembly in Athens, noted (21-Jun-2016) that while other LCCs are flying beyond Europe and short-haul markets, "There is so much potential within Europe". Ms Sherry identified Eastern/Central Europe as markets where travel propensity is lower than in Western Europe and represent a growth opportunity. Additional members could expand the European Common Aviation Area while other countries could form open skies or liberalise with the EU, as occurred in Morocco and Israel, where Ryanair has grown.
