Eight Asia Pacific LCCs form Value Alliance

Cebu Pacific Air, Cebgo, JEJU air, Nok Air, NokScoot, Scoot, Tigerair Australia, Tigerair Singapore and Vanilla Air announced (16-May-2016) the creation of the Value Alliance. Customers will be able to book airfares on flights with any member airlines in a single transaction from each partner website through technology developed by Air Black Box (ABB). The system will also provide ancillary products. ABB's 'Air Connection Engine' platform is expected to complete IATA NDC certification in the near future. The carriers said the alliance will provide greater value, connectivity and choice for travel throughout Southeast Asia, North Asia and Australia. The carriers also expect to strengthen distribution in non-home markets, expand saleable networks through interline itineraries, retain ancillary revenue opportunities and offer customers a better experience. The airlines said the grouping is the world's largest LCC alliance, serving more than 160 destinations with 176 aircraft. The airlines served more than 47 million passengers in 2015.
