SAS enters into agreements with CityJet for sale of Blue1, wet lease of eight CRJ900s

SAS announced (01-Oct-2015) the sale of Blue1 to CityJet and entered a three year agreement with CityJet to wet lease eight new Bombardier CRJ900s with an option for six more. The aircraft will enter service from Mar-2016, with Blue1 staff transferring to CityJet on the same date (Bloomberg, 01-Oct-2015). As part of the deal, Blue1 has recommitted to retiring its fleet of Boeing 717-200 aircraft by the end of 2016.
