Russian domestic pax down 14.1%, intl down 14.8% for nine months to Sep-2009
Russia's Transport Clearing House (TCH) reports (10-Nov-2009) the following total system (domestic and international) traffic highlights for Russian airlines for the nine months ended 30-Sep-2009:
- Passenger number: 34.3 million, -14.1% year-on-year;
- Domestic: 17.8 million, -14.8%;
- International: 16.5 million, -13.4%;
- Passenger load factor: 75.1%, +0.3 ppt;
- Domestic: 72.0%, +1.0 ppt;
- International: 77.7%, -0.2 ppt;
- Cargo volume: 493,493 tonnes, -18.4%;
- Domestic: 153,181 tonnes, -19.9%;
- International: 340,312 tonnes, -16.3%.
Aeroflot remained the largest carrier by total system (domestic and international) passenger traffic for the nine months ended 30-Sep-2009. The top ten airlines are as follows:
- Aeroflot: 6.5 million;
- Transaero: 3.8 million;
- S7: 3.4 million;
- UTair: 2.6 million;
- Russia State Transport Company: 2.3 million;
- Orenburg: 1.2 million;
- Ural Airlines: 1.2 million;
- VIM Airlines: 1.0 million;
- Donavia: 948,462;
- Vladivostok Air: 836,406.
AirBridgeCargo Airlines remained the largest carrier by total system (domestic and international) cargo traffic for the nine months ended 30-Sep-2009. The top ten air cargo carriers are as follows:
- AirBridgeCargo: 134,881 tonnes, n/a year-on-year;
- Volga-Dnepr: 67,272 tonnes;
- Aeroflot: 58,477 tonnes;
- S7: 24,056 tonnes;
