Restrictions lifted on UK airports

NATS UK reports the UK Civil Aviation Administration lifted restrictions at London Heathrow and Gatwick airports until 01:00 on 18-May-2010. Flight restrictions to the Orkney and Shetland Islands were also lifted. All airports in Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales will be available until then. London Heathrow, Gatwick, Farnborough, London City, Shoreham, Biggin Hill, all airfields in Northern Ireland, Scottish Western Isles, Oban, Campbeltown, Caernarfon and Aberdeen were all affected by restrictions on 17-May-2010. Approximately 240 flights were cancelled at London Heathrow (from an expected 1,300), with another 88 cancelled at London Gatwick and 40 at Liverpool (AFP, 17-May-2010).
