Qatar Airways plans to invest in more foreign airlines soon: Al Baker

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker, speaking at the 2016 CAPA Aviation Awards for Excellence in Amsterdam, stated (27-Oct-2016) that Qatar plans to invest in more foreign airlines. Qatar now has stakes in airline groups IAG and LATAM and expects to soon conclude a deal to acquire 49% of Italy's Meridiana. He said, "We already have other investments lined up" and two other projects in the pipeline. "We will be making some very interesting acquisitions soon," Mr Akbar said. "I won't tell you too much about it. But one thing I can tell you is we always be with successful people."
