Qantas reports benefits of Emirates partnership including 4x increase in codeshare bookings

Qantas International CEO Gareth Evans, speaking at the carriers' 2015 investor day, said (12-May-2015) Emirates is "driving substantial benefits" for the carrier and the partnership is taking traffic from competitors in Asia and the Middle East. Mr Evans noted the following changes since the partnership launched in 2012:

  • AUD1.7 billion (USD1.35 billion) of revenue booked mutually on each others code;
  • 4x increase in Qantas codeshare bookings;
  • 40% loyalty participation on Emirates flights (increase of Qantas Frequent Flyer and Emirates Skywards members on Emirates metal versus pre-launch);
  • 8% net promotor score increase of the partnership. [more - original PR]
