OMV ends Iran Air fuel contract in Austria

OMV has reportedly not renewed a fuel supply contract with Iran Air due to international sanctions against Iran, meaning Iran Air aircraft can no longer fill up at Vienna Airport (Wiener Zeitung/Reuters, 27-Mar-2011). The contract expired on 23-Mar-2011. "As an international company, OMV always operates within the agreed regulations. Following the EU, UN and US sanctions against Tehran we decided not to extend the contract because it would not be in accord with US sanction," OMV spokesman Sven Pusswald said. OMV was reportedly one of the last major oil companies that had been supplying Iran Air with fuel.
