Melbourne Airport rolling 12 month international pax exceed 8m for first time in Nov-2014

Melbourne Tullamarine Airport reported (19-Dec-2014) a 10% year-on-year increase in international passenger numbers to 662,735 in Nov-2014, with international passengers reaching a record eight million in a 12 month period for the first time during the month. CEO Chris Woodruff noted "solid growth in US passport holders followed the introduction of United Airlines' new direct Melbourne-Los Angeles service in late October. And since Jetstar introduced the first direct Melbourne-Japan service in more than five years, we've seen more than 60 per cent monthly growth in Japanese passport holders." Nov-2014 traffic highlights:

  • Passenger numbers: 2.7 million, +4.1% year-on-year;
