UK's London Heathrow Airport passenger numbers up 1% - traffic highlights for Sep-2012:

• Passenger numbers: 6,345,900, +0.6%;

  • North Atlantic: +4.5%;
  • Brazil: +14%;
  • China: +5.9%;
  • India: -7%;
• Cargo volume: 121,135 tonnes, +1.7%;

According to airport operator BAA CEO Collin Matthews, "traffic to and from the BRIC economies, other than India, demonstrates the on-going importance of hub capacity to connect the UK to growth markets."
