India denies permission for international airlines to launch/increase capacity at Mumbai

India's Civil Aviation Ministry reportedly denied permission to airlines from 15 countries - including Bahrain, Dubai, Qatar, Oman, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand - in the past year to commence operations or increase capacity at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, due to overcapacity there (Indian Express, 26-Aug-2010). The airport reportedly only has slot availability between 00:00 and 06:00.
