Dubai International Airport pax up 9%, cargo up 8% in Nov-2016

Dubai International Airport reported (04-Jan-2017) a 9.4% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers to 6.6 million in Nov-2016. India was the top destination country by total passengers, driven by increase in capacity and launch of new services by SpiceJet, Jet Airways and Air India, followed by Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Pakistan.The top regions in terms of percentage growth were Eastern Europe (26.5%) and Asia (17.3%) followed by the GCC (17%), while London (286,986), Doha (235,910), Mumbai (202,041) and Riyadh (151,791) were the top destination cities with highest growth during the month. Cargo volume at the airport increased 7.5% to 218,323 tonnes and aircraft movements increased 2.7% to 33,787.
