Congo Express to be launched by SA Express in Feb-2010

SA Express announced plans to start a new carrier to operate domestic services in the Democratic Republic of Congo (Bloomberg, 20-Jan-2010). The airline will be called Congo Express and operate daily Lubumbashi-Kinshasa service, as well as four times weekly Kinshasa-Mbuji Mayi (a diamond producing centre) effective 01-Feb-2010. BizAfrika Congo owns 51% of the company, while SA Express owns 49% and will also be responsible for its maintenance services. More international flights in the region are planned for the future.
