Civil Aviation Safety Authority endorses Qantas' A380 operations to US

Australia's Civil Aviation Safety Authority endorsed Qantas' plans to operate its A380 to the US, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines set at the maximum 72,000lb thrust (The Australian, 12-Jan-2011). Qantas expects it trans-Pacific A380 programme to gradually return to normal after it resumes services to Los Angeles on 16-Jan-2011. Meanwhile, compensation talks have resumed between Rolls Royce and Qantas, with the carrier continuing to state it would prefer a commercial settlement.
