Cambodia Bayon Airlines confirms plans to commence operations in Dec-2014 or Jan-2015

Cambodia Bayon Airlines and Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) confirmed (27-Aug-2014) AVIC invested in the new Cambodian carrier through Bayon Holdings Limited. AVIC will provide technical support and crew training and marketing will be supported by Joy Air and Bayon Holdings. Cambodia Bayon Airlines applied for an air operator's certificate and hopes to commence domestic services in Dec-2014 or Jan-2015. The airline will operate multiple times daily Phnom Penh-Siem Reap and twice daily Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville services with two MA-60 aircraft ordered from AVIC. The carrier has options to order an additional 18 MA-60s and 10 A320s to operate ASEAN, China, Japan and Korea routes from Phnom Penh and Siem Reap within five years.
