BTS: US airlines collect USD771m in baggage fees in 2Q2013
US Department of Transportation's (DoT) Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) stated (30-Sep-2013) US airlines collected USD871.142 million in baggage fees in 2Q2013. BTS released the following baggage fee totals for each carrier:
- Delta Air Lines: USD217.072 million;
- United Airlines: USD158.012 million;
- US Airways: USD139.306 million;
- American Airlines: USD132.698 million;
- Spirit Airlines: USD53.499 million;
- Southwest Airlines: USD42.5 million;
- Allegiant Air: USD33.038 million;
- Alaska Airlines: USD24.249 million;
- JetBlue Airways: USD17.863 million;
- Hawaiian Airlines: USD17.752 million;
- Frontier Airlines: USD14.186 million;
- Virgin America: USD15.557 million;
- Sun Country: USD3.592 million;
- Mesa Airlines: USD0.966 million;
