AirAsia reports strong operating profit growth in 3Q2015

AirAsia revenue up 15% - financial highlights for three months ended 30-Sep-2015:

  • Revenue: MYR1516 million (USD374.1 million), +15.1% year-on-year;
    • Baggage fees: MYR126.9 million (USD31.3 million), +14.8%;
  • Costs:
    • Fuel: MYR515.5 million (USD127.3 million), -1.1%;
    • Labour: MYR178.7 million (USD44.1 million), +12.7%;
  • Operating profit: MYR316.0 million (USD78.0 million), +57.7%;
  • Share of results of associates:
  • Net profit (loss): (MYR405.7 million) (USD100.2 million), compared to a profit of MYR5.4 million (USD1.3 million) in p-c-p;
  • Passenger numbers: 6.3 million, +19%;
  • Load factor: 82%, +5 ppts;
