70% of British Airways’ Heathrow traffic is local, Gatwick operation had cost & revenue issues: IAG

International Airlines Group (IAG) CEO Willie Walsh, speaking at CAPA's Airlines in Transition conference in Dublin, stated (10-Apr-2014) 70% of British Airways' traffic at UK's London Heathrow is local traffic with the remaining 30% connecting. He also said that British Airways' restructured operation at London Gatwick was in response not just to the cost base being too high but also revenues being too low.
