Analysis

Zurich (THE NUANCE GROUP) - The Nuance Group's two new Regency Duty Free stores have opened at Wellington International Airport, showcasing the airport's "Wild at Heart" theme and offering an exciting blend of wholesome New Zealand icon products and European luxury brand names.

The opening of the two Regency Duty Free stores coincides with the completion of stage one of Wellington International's terminal upgrade. The departures store is approximately 600 sqm and the arrivals store 234 sqm. From mid-2009 until 2014, The Nuance Group's Regency Duty Free will become the exclusive operator of the concession and the retail space will more than double.

Product ranges include a Regency "Made in New Zealand" section offering locally produced items, and a Regency "Cellar" comprehensive selection of fine wines from local wineries, many available to taste before buying.

Christian Strang, CEO Australia and New Zealand comments: "Being represented at New Zealand's capital airport is important for The Nuance Group. The Regency brand is well established in New Zealand and is respected for its service and innovation. These new stores are stage one of a more comprehensive development; stage two will see further expansion of the Regency presence."

"Regency Duty Free is committed to enhancing the shopping experience for tourist and kiwi alike", says Kelvin Ricketts, Director The Nuance Group, New Zealand. "Regency provides a comprehensive set of services to all travellers arriving and departing Wellington, from pre-order, hotline and website to a comprehensive product range covering all key categories."

At the opening of the stores, Strang complimented the Wellington Airport (WIAL) management on bringing genuine destination differentiation to the Airport through the "Wild at Heart" theme and the retail offer. "Wellington Airport has laid good foundations for the future of the business and we look forward to working with Simon Draper (CEO) and his team to further enhance the 'wild' theme."
