About

Eagle Air was a wholly owned subsidiary of Air New Zealand that operated turboprop equipment on the Air New Zealand domestic route network. It was based at Hamilton Airport on the North Island. Air New Zealand announced plans to close Eagle Airways in Nov-2014 citing high losses and approaching end-of-life for the Beechcraft B1900D aircraft type. Air New Zealand scheduled Eagle Airways' final Beechcraft B1900D service on 26-Aug-2016.
