Visitor arrivals to Taiwan up 20% in Aug-2010

Taiwan's Tourism Bureau reported (17-Sep-2010) visitor arrivals to Taiwan rose 20.3% year-on-year to 442,235 in Aug-2010. Details include:

Total visitor arrivals: 442,235, +20.3% year-on-year;
- Asia: 383,766, +24.6%;
  - Mainland China: 118,616, +46.7%;
  - Japan: 91,613, +13.8%;
  - Hong Kong and Macau: 81,600, +11.7%;
  - South Korea: 19,934, +43.6%;
- Americas: 36,512, -0.5%;
  - US: 30,241, -1.8%;
  - Canada: 5,024, +8.8%;
- Europe: 15,797, +4.2%;
- Oceania: 4,631, +12.0%;
- Africa: 802, +11.4%.
