UTair Aviation to retire 40% of fleet

UTair Aviation announced (Dec-2014) plans to reduce its fleet and route network as part of cost optimisation programme. The carrier will reduce its fleet by 40% from 117 to 71 aircraft to save RUB6.5billion (EUR88 million) on leasing payments in 2015 and RUB69 billion (EUR936.75 million) by 2025. The carrier plans to retire all its A321-200, Boeing 757-200 and Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft. The carrier will also suspend unprofitable services. [more - original PR - Russian]
