US airlines report 21st month of decline in employee levels

US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) stated (18-May-2010) US scheduled passenger airline employment levels fell 3.8% year-on-year in Mar-2010 - representing the 21st consecutive monthly decline in full-time equivalent employee (FTE) levels. Details include:

  • Full time equivalent employee levels: 377,300, -3.8% year-on-year;
    • Network: 256,500, -3.1%;
    • LCCs: 63,800, +1.2%;
    • Regional: 51,500, -10.1%.
