Tiger Airways passenger numbers down in Aug-2011, load factor down 10 ppts

Tiger Airways reports (09-Sep-2011) the following traffic highlights in Aug-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 344,000, -22% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 76%, -10 ppts. [more - original PR]

Tiger Airways: "Whilst Tiger Airways Australia resumed domestic services on 12 August 2011, flight operations recommenced with significantly reduced capacity and on a limited schedule relative to August 2010. This resulted in a significant decline in passenger numbers. Additionally, given the short lead time to market the capacity, load factors were markedly lower than the same period last year. However, the load factors had improved during the course of the month and the positive trend is encouraging," Acting CEO of Tiger Airways Holdings, Mr. Chin Yau Seng.
