Sydney Airport CEO Kerri Mather attributed the international traffic growth to capacity growth generated by Scoot, AirAsia X and
Emirates on routes to Asia and the Middle East while the recent trend of significant growth in Singaporean and Malaysian nationals arriving in Sydney continued, with increases of 54% and 45% respectively. There was also solid growth of 12% in Chinese traffic during the month, with China set to become the airport’s second largest foreign nationality group this year.
