SriLankan Airlines notes importance of ancillary revenue to future profitability

SriLankan Airlines head of finance Yasantha Dissanayake, speaking at CAPA's Airline Fleet & Finance Summit Asia, said (02-Mar-2015) ancillary revenue programmes are going to play a major role in the carrier's future profitability, flagging MRO and technical training as a key area. Mr Dissanayake noted: We are hoping to build a new MRO facility and offer more capacity through MRO training. Indigo do their MRO training at Sri Lanka, and we have a three-year contract to do C-checks so there is scale."
