South Korea’s domestic pax up 13% to 2.5m in Apr-2015, int’l pax up 20% to 5.3m

South Korea's Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs reports (25-May-2015) the following traffic highlights in Apr-2015:

  • Passenger numbers: 7.8 million, +17.5% year-on-year;
    • Domestic: 2.5 million, +12.9%;
    • Korean Air: 695,876, +4.9%;
    • Asiana: 480,519, +7.3%;
    • LCCs: 1.3 million, +19.9%;
      • Air Busan: 230,077, +3.6%;
      • Eastar Jet: 144,961, +7.7%;
      • Jeju Air: 299,286, +32.3%;
      • Jin Air: 139,306, +26.1%;
      • T'way: 206,474, +72.4%;
    • International: 5.3 million, +19.8%;
      • China: 1.6 million, +26.2%;
      • Japan: 978,709 million, +21.3%;
      • Southeast Asia: 1.7 million, +18.4%;
      • Americas: 358,234 million, +11.4%;
      • Europe: 334,409, +9.9%;
      • Oceania: 155,242, +12.8%;
      • Others: 78,477, +9.6%;
    • By carrier:
      • Korean Air: 1.5 million, +13.8%;
      • Asiana: 1.1 million, +12.0%;
      • LCCs: 696,971 million, +40.9%;
      • Air Busan: 133,657, +35.1%;
