South Africa's Government considering merging SAA and SA Express and engaging equity partner

South Africa's Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan said (24-Feb-2016) the Government is considering the possibility of merging South African Airways (SAA) and SA Express with a view to engaging with a potential minority equity partner. Mr Gordhan said, "we do not need to be invested in four airline businesses," and stated the proposal would, "create a bigger and more operationally efficient airline."
