Qantas Group passenger numbers up in Jan-2012, load factor and yields improve

Qantas Airways reports (29-Feb-2012) the following traffic highlights in Jan-2012:

• Passenger numbers: 4.0 million, +8.3% year-on-year;
  • Qantas Domestic: 1.3 million, +2.2%;
  • Qantas International: 580,000, +3.6%;
  • Jetstar Domestic: 1.0 million, +4.3%;
  • Jetstar International: 446,000, +18.4%;
  • QantasLink: 396,000, +12.5%;
  • Jetstar Asia: 324,000, +48%;
• Passenger load factor: 82.2%, +1.3 ppts;
  • Qantas Domestic: 78.3%, +2.2 ppts;
  • Qantas International: 86.1%, -0.3 ppt;
  • Jetstar Domestic: 85.6%, +9.1 ppts;
  • Jetstar International: 76.5%, -3.2 ppts;
  • QantasLink: 62.4%, -1.4 ppts;

Qantas: "Total Domestic (Qantas Domestic, QantasLink and Jetstar Domestic networks) yield excluding foreign exchange for the financial year to date January 2012 was 5.6 percent higher when compared to the corresponding prior year period.
