Peel Airport Holdings losses double in FY2010

UK's Peel Airport Holdings, which operates Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport and Liverpool John Lennon Airport, reported a loss of GBP26 million in the 12 months ended 31-Mar-2010, which is double its loss for FY2009, on the back of a 15% year-on-year decline in revenues to GBP41 million (Yorkshire Post, 04-Jan-2011). The group has also downgraded its passenger numbers forecast for Apr-2010 to Mar-2011 from 1.2 million to under 1.0 million. Meanwhile, Vancouver Airport Services, which purchased a 65% stake in Peel expects passenger throughput at Robin Hood Airport to reach between three million and four million by 2016.
