Mexico DGAC: Air France, Lufthansa, Emirates and Turkish Airlines interested in A380 to Mexico City

Mexico's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) director Alexandro Argudín said four carriers are interested in operating the A380 to Mexico City, including Air France, Lufthansa, Emirates and Turkish Airlines (Reportur, 22-May-2014). As previously reported by CAPA, runway works to allow the airport to handle the superjumbo are slated for 2014, though a timeframe has yet to be announced. Emirates and Turkish Airlines do not currently serve the Mexican capital, Lufthansa operates daily service from Frankfurt with Boeing 747-8s and five times weekly service from Munich with A340-600s, while Air France operates daily service from Paris with 747-400 equipment, according to OAG. Air France, Lufthansa and Emirates currently operate the A380.
