Lufthansa to decide on future of Germanwings brand in early 2013

Lufthansa plans to decide on the future of its low-cost Germanwings brand in early 2013 (Financial Times Deutschland, 13-Jun-2012). As previously reported by CAPA, Lufthansa is considering shifting short-haul services outside of Frankfurt and Munich to a new unit involving both Lufthansa mainline and Germanwings. The unit would operate up to 90 jet aircraft.
