Lufthansa Group passenger numbers up 4.1% in Feb-2012, pax load factor up
Lufthansa Group reports (09-Mar-2012) the following traffic/financial highlights in Feb-2012:
- Passenger numbers: 6.7 million, +4.1% year-on-year;
- Lufthansa Passenger Airlines*: 4.8 million, +2.8%;
- SWISS**: 1.2 million, +5.8%;
- Austrian Airlines: 715,000, +10.5%;
- Passenger load factor: 71.8%, +0.5 ppt;
- Lufthansa Passenger Airlines: 70.9%, +0.5 ppt;
- SWISS: 76.1%, -0.5 ppt;
- Austrian Airlines: 69.4%,+1.3 ppts;
- Sales: +3.6%;
- Lufthansa Passenger Airlines: +2.3%;
- SWISS: +6.7%;

Lufthansa Group: "In February 2012 the Passenger Airline Group reported moderate year-on-year sales growth of 3.6%. Capacity was extended by 2.9%, while the number of flights was reduced by 2.4%. The new cabin layout has been in place in all the aircraft in the Lufthansa Passenger Airlines short-haul fleet since the beginning of the year, which increases the average number of seats per flight and improves the unit cost position."
