Lufthansa to base first A350-900 at Munich

Lufthansa announced (07-May-2015) plans to base its first A350-900 aircraft at Munich, with the aircraft scheduled for delivery at the end of 2016. The carrier also intends to base A350-900 aircraft at its Frankfurt hub. Lufthansa German Airlines board member finances & hub Munich Thomas Klühr said: "The A350 marks our entry into the two-liter class and is an important step towards active noise protection. The aircraft generates a 30 percent smaller noise footprint." According to the CAPA Fleet Database, Lufthansa currently has 25 A350-900 aircraft on order, scheduled for delivery between Aug-2016 and 2020. [more - original PR - English/German]
