UK's London Gatwick Airport passenger numbers up 5% - traffic highlights for Aug-2013:

• Passenger numbers: 4.0 million, +5.2% year-on-year;

  • Ireland: 119,500, -4.4%;
  • European scheduled: 2.2 million, +8.0%;
  • European charter: 675,700, +3.3%;

London Gatwick: "This month we were delighted to announce that British Airways will base a tenth long haul aircraft at Gatwick, offering passengers even more choice of when to travel to key leisure destinations in the US and the Caribbean.
